The Community Y swim team is for individuals willing to work hard and compete in scheduled swim meets.  Emphasis of the program is skill development, sportsmanship and the enjoyment of swim competition.  Younger participants should be able to swim multiple lengths of the pool (unassisted using no floatation device) without touching the bottom.  Advanced swimmers should possess the ability to skillfully swim strokes in ranges of 2-4,000 yards per practice.  Competitive swimming is not a “learn to swim” program. 

Prerequisite: Swim 25 yards each front crawl and back crawl without assistance or equipment

Fees: $100 per participant or $270 per 3 swimmer family

* Y membership required for participation
* Scholarships available for those needing assistance

Practice Schedule
Beginner Swimmers             M/T/TH   5:30-6:30 p.m.
Advanced Swimmers           M/T/TH   6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.
Technique Practice              Wednesdays  5:30-6:30 p.m.

Dates: Program begins on October 17, 2010
* Program continues through the YMCA State Meet on March 3 & 4 for qualifying swimmers
